ACP & Lifeline Program

Access to fast and reliable internet is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity. The digital revolution has opened doors to unprecedented opportunities in education, employment, healthcare, and beyond. Unfortunately, for some households, affording another monthly bill is a challenge. This disparity results in missed educational opportunities for children, limited career prospects for adults, and entire communities lacking access to essential telehealth services.

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) currently provides service discounts of up to $30 per month ($75 per month on tribal lands) and, in some cases, device discounts of up to $100. Eligible families, including those at or below 200% of the federal poverty line or enrolled in federal programs such as SNAP, WIC, Medicaid, and others, can apply.

However, it’s crucial to note a critical funding update: The current status of Affordable Connectivity Program funding indicates its anticipated conclusion by the end of April 2024. Without additional funding from Congress, the ACP will cease accepting new applications and enrollments. February 7, 2024, is the final day for consumers to apply and enroll in the ACP. All new enrollments require approval and completion by 11:59 p.m. ET on this date to receive benefits through the current anticipated ending date of April 30, 2024. Please note that this date is an estimate and may be subject to change. For more detailed information, please visit the Affordable Connectivity Program webpage.

Unfortunately, this anticipated conclusion of the ACP, due to lack of funds from Congress, is not directly controlled by NCTC. The ACP serves as a critical lifeline for millions of Americans, facilitating access to high-speed internet for remote learning, telehealth, employment services, and more. At NCTC, we recognize the importance of the ACP.

How You Can Help:

  • Apply and Enroll by February 7: Visit the Affordable Connectivity Program webpage for more information and to apply. Approval and enrollment by 11:59 p.m. ET on February 7 are crucial to ensuring uninterrupted access to the ACP benefit.
  • Contact Your Elected Officials: Advocate for the continuation of ACP funding by contacting your locally elected federal officials in the House and Senate.

NCTC encourages those who were eligible for ACP to see if they qualify for Lifeline. You can determine eligibility by reviewing the information available on the Lifeline Support website.

Lifeline* provides up to $9.25 in monthly relief ($34.25 on tribal lands) to households living at or below 135% of the federal poverty line.
