{"id":38226,"date":"2022-11-11T14:49:54","date_gmt":"2022-11-11T20:49:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nctc.com\/?page_id=38226"},"modified":"2022-12-22T10:07:47","modified_gmt":"2022-12-22T16:07:47","slug":"customer-bill-of-rights","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.nctc.com\/customers\/customer-support\/customer-bill-of-rights\/","title":{"rendered":"Customer Bill of Rights"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As a residential customer of a regulated public utility in Kentucky, you are guaranteed the following rights subject to Kentucky Revised Statutes and the provisions of the Kentucky Public Service Commission Administrative Regulations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You have the right to service, provided you (or a member of your household whose debt was accumulated at your address) are not indebted to the utility.<\/li>\n<li>You have the right to inspect and review the utility\u2019s rates and tariffed operating procedures during the utility\u2019s normal office<\/li>\n<li>You have the right to be present at any routine utility inspection of your service conditions.<\/li>\n<li>You must be provided a separate, distinct disconnect notice alerting you\u00b7 to a possible disconnection of your service if payment is not received.<\/li>\n<li>You have the right to dispute the reasons for any announced termination of your service.<\/li>\n<li>You have the right to negotiate a partial payment plan when your service is threatened by disconnection for non payment.<\/li>\n<li>You have the right to participate in equal, budget payment plans for your natural gas and electric<\/li>\n<li>You have the right to maintain your utility service for up to thirty (30) days upon presentation of a medical certificate issued by a health official.<\/li>\n<li>You have the right to prompt (within 24 hours) restoration of your service when the cause for discontinuance of the service has been corrected.<\/li>\n<li>If you have not been disconnected, you have the right to maintain your natural gas and electric service for up to 30 days if you present a Certificate of Need issued by the Kentucky Cabinet for Human Resources between November and the end of March.<\/li>\n<li>If you have been disconnected due to nonpayment, you have the right to have your natural gas or electric service reconnected between the months of November through March provided you:\n<ul>\n<li>Present a Certificate of Need issued by the Kentucky Cabinet for Human Resources, and<\/li>\n<li>Pay \u2153 of your outstanding bill ($200 maximum), and<\/li>\n<li>Accept referral to the Human Resources\u2019 Weatherization Program, and<\/li>\n<li>Agree to a repayment schedule that will cause your bill to become current by October<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>You have the right to contact the Public Service commission regarding any dispute that you have been unable to resolve with your utility (Call Toll Free <a href=\"tel:+1-800-772-4636\">(800) 772-4636<\/a>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Customer Bill of Rights is referenced in 807 KAR 5:006 Section 14 (1) (c) 1.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As a residential customer of a regulated public utility in Kentucky, you are guaranteed the following rights subject to Kentucky Revised Statutes and the provisions of the Kentucky Public Service Commission Administrative Regulations: You have the right to service, provided you (or a member of your household whose debt was accumulated at your address) are [&#8230;]\n","protected":false},"author":20,"featured_media":0,"parent":38220,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"inline_featured_image":false,"footnotes":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.nctc.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/38226"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.nctc.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.nctc.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.nctc.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/20"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.nctc.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=38226"}],"version-history":[{"count":4,"href":"https:\/\/www.nctc.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/38226\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":39544,"href":"https:\/\/www.nctc.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/38226\/revisions\/39544"}],"up":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.nctc.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/38220"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.nctc.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=38226"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
