Hermitage Springs Area Is Part Of The Big IPTV Connection

Even some of the more remote areas of the NCTC service area are part of the initial rollout strategy of the video TV product. “We have gotten the attention of our customers; they know we will find a way to get new broadband backed TV into areas beyond the larger populations. We are more about serving a total rural population, and I think our customers really appreciate this genuineness. Customers are responding with appreciation,” said Nancy White, NCTC President and CEO.

“This Is What Matters Most!”
Why Wayne and Gail Birdwell Switched To NCTC:

“We had Direct TV because NCTC was not out here at the time. We wanted HDTV but we didn’t want to signup with Direct TV under their contract to get it. We know a lot of the NCTC people, and we wanted a local product. I don’t think you can beat NCTC! We like it when we can talk to people right here when we need help.”

What Other Broadband Services Do You Have With Your TV Service From
NCTC?
“We upgraded our Internet to 1.5m speed. We use the Internet all the time! We surf and explore and find the Internet to be a great use of time. We get on Facebook and try to keep up with what’s going on. We have a laptop and a desktop computer.”

What Is A Favorite Feature Of The New TV Experience?
“I like the Widgets at the bottom of the TV screen; I just click from the remote control and go to information spots, just like on the Internet.”
Widget: A picture type symbol that you can point and access thorough your TV remote that takes you to applications on your TV similar to your computer.

Another “A” Report For Our IPTV

Customers Sandra and Barry Marshall of the Green Grove community share the reason their NCTC IPTV beats their old Direct TV.
“We like the phone number that pops up on the screen when we get a call. It’s good to know who’s calling us! All our favorite programs are here, and the quality is great. Bundled with high speed Internet and our long distance discount package, we’re saving money,” says Sandra.

Here are their favorite channels:
Barry’s: The Military Channel and The Outdoor Channel
Sandra’s: Lifetime, Discovery and Hallmark

How To Create A Strong Password And Why

Passwords are our gateways into the information and communication we depend on. Online transactions can be more secure with the right consideration of making them as private and secure as possible. Here’s How:
• if the software will allow it, mix alphabet and numbers together
• use at least one capital letter and even a symbol to make it a very strong password
• a strong password should have 8 characters (example: seRv3!ty — note the symbol and the capital letter in the mix, if the software will allow it.)
• avoid over simple weak passwords, easy words and familiar concepts that identify you
• never tell your password
• keep your anti-virus software up to date
