Line Technicians

North Central Telephone Cooperative has an opening for two Line Technicians.  These positions are responsible for all duties related to the construction, installation, operation, and maintenance of wire, cable, and associated equipment. 

Specific Duties:

-         Drives Cooperative vehicles in a safe and responsible manner

-         Safely operates various construction equipment

-         Climbs poles, ladders, and enters tunnels, buildings, trenches, crawl spaces and manholes to place/repair equipment

-         Installs and maintains cable (underground & aerial)

-         Walks over all types of terrain in all kinds of weather conditions

Minimum Qualifications:

-         Must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver License

-         Must pass CDL Physical & Drug Test

-         Must pass Background Check

-         High School Diploma or GED/Post High School education a  plus

-         Must have basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and be proficient using email

-         Experience in operating construction equipment including hoisting, digging, and trenching equipment

-         Must be able to lift a minimum of 60 lbs.

-         Must be able to work at heights and enclosed spaces

-         Good general mechanical/electrical aptitude

-         Must pass pre-employment tests including basic math, reading, writing, and computer skills

-         Ability to effectively function as a team player

-         Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner
