So Telecommuting Could Be Your Possibility for 2012? Here’s a Story:
The word ‘telecommuter’ is vague until you know how it gives new life to the workday world. Step into Jeff Hudson’s work-from-home office and see what broadband can do to transform the way we live.
He’s still living in his Lafayette hometown and works a few days at the local hospital where he came into the world! Because of broadband, Hudson can be an HCA pharmacist from home. Hudson is one of 30 pharmacists who do order entries of medicines for HCA from a telecommute work station connected by high speed Internet. He can now take his son to school, go to the gym, walk his dog and begin a more rewarding ten-hour work day from the comfort and stimulation of his quiet home environment.
“I would not have a job if I could not telecommute, and NCTC’s reliable network is the reason it’s working for me! This is the new way to be efficient. There are many positive differences for business,” comments Hudson.
Hudson is a growing songwriter and because of telecommuting has more time available with Nashville songwriters in well known spots like the Blue Bird Cafe (Nashville, TN), where the music industry is kicking. “I write like I’m working. It takes discipline. They call Nashville a ten-year town for writers. Most give up and leave in the first three. But the ones who stay committed usually ‘come to the right place at the right time.’ I’d like to believe that right now I have a few songs that are radio level quality. The focus I have achieved with telecommuting is helping me also stay focused on my writing too,” he said.
“All the writers I am writing with share their information via the Internet. We’re on the laptop when we are writing, emailing back and forth what we’re working on without interrupting the process. Broadband is how I’m doing so many things,” Hudson says.
We asked him why he chose NCTC as his broadband provider:” I never thought of calling anyone else. I know NCTC,” said Hudson.
