NCTC Honors Dedicated Historian On Its Own 60th Anniversary
It is only fitting that the Will Hall Sullivan Community Service Award during our 60th Year of Service go to someone who has a heart for historical preservation. Randy G. East has worked tirelessly for years toward the preservation of the history of Macon County. Many of his efforts have resulted in grave monuments being placed for veterans and signs designating significant historical events in Macon and surrounding counties being erected.
Most recently, he served as the coordinator for the Civil Trails Program, which highlighted over 1500 historical Civil War events and sites in five states.
“Randy unselfishly gives of his time and talents to preserve and to promote growth for Macon County County in many ways. He is very deserving of the Will Hall Sullivan Community Service Award,” his nominator said.
Randy chose the Macon Helps Terminally Ill Program for this year’s Will Hall Sullivan contribution.
