Doing the Right Thing For Our Customers

A Message From Nancy J. White, NCTC President/CEO

Your NCTC network has tackled sizable tasks this year, creating new customer advantages. I think we can see into the future of our rural economies with more hope as we watch the way broadband is already surpassing expectations.

There are many more people telecommuting to better jobs because NCTC has connected them to faster Internet. Businesses are more secure, and their fixed assets are less threatened by intruders because NCSS experts are providing local security solutions. Families enjoy watching their kids have fun at home as they are learning to ‘go with the flow of technology,’ becoming familiar with growing varieties of Internet active gadgets. Teachers tell us they recognize students who use these technology interactions at home.

There is competition with all our services, but NCTC’s personal touch of service and direct response are things even the largest companies are unable to deliver. For example: being open to find ‘one on one’ ways, if necessary, to get bandwidth to match a customer’s immediate need. More things are possible when your service provider is close. Our technology thinkers are dedicated to helping every NCTC business customer compete on a lager scale. Our community can count on us to be part of economic development. We are so proud of the communities we serve and what they have already been able to accomplish with technology.

Our Top Stories of the Year:

• We have completed our new data center that will sustain the most extreme weather as well as national security concerns. The difference in our engineering plan makes it appealing for even regional businesses to locate high impact data in NCTC’s information warehouse. Our high-standards of design excellence also open the door to new partnerships to grow our local information base.

• Our fiber infrastructure is becoming a household term, and many customers are looking forward to having fiber to their homes.

• We are successfully competing in broadband because of our proven Internet speeds and responsible technical support.

• We have installed new Internet speeds for some businesses as high as 20 Mb and are planning 50 Mb and 100 Mb service soon.

• Customers are spreading the word that our High Definition TV offers amazing quality viewing, and our VOD (Video on Demand) and DVR (Digital Video Recording) are exactly what they want.

Better trained, product-informed employees eagerly reach out every day to customers covering many topics/interests.

• Our partners helping to build our new network have added more than 138 jobs into our communities already. But the bigger picture is in the way they are adding revenue every day to the local economy by renting houses, buying groceries and being good neighbors. We have carefully selected the right teams for the tasks.

• Making sure there is continued rural broadband commitment at the legislative and policy levels is also a mission of NCTC.We are not fearful to present the growing demands of our customers. We are recognized for being brave when it comes to speaking up for fair rates and opportunities for rural technology to be competitive with any place in the country. We are also deeply appreciative of customers who help us tell our story about the proven benefits of local networking. We have made headway!

We need your support of our services, as each one builds up our community. Every customer is a measurement of our future potential. We hope you will also see yourself as this year’s NCTC success story because broadband most likely is everyone’s new field of promise.
