NCTC knows that even the best customers can face hard times and may need help in keeping even the basic phone service in place for crucial communication needs when your budget can least afford it. Our customers who receive federal and/or state aid in Kentucky and Tennessee including at least one of the following programs can qualify for Lifeline/Link-Up:
• Medicaid
• Foodstamps
• Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
• Federal Public Housing Assistance / Section 8
• Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
• Temporary Assistance to Needy Families Program (TANF)
• National School Lunch Free Lunch Program (NSL)
Through Lifeline for qualifying low-income Tennessee subscribers, a $8.25 monthly discount is available. Qualifying low-income subscribers in Kentucky can receive a $13.50 monthly discount. The new rate waives the customer’s federal subscriber line charge and reduces the local service charge.
Link-Up provides up to a 50 percent reduction on the cost of basic telephone service installation (up to 30 dollars) to qualifying low-income subscribers.
